Chelsea Senior Session

Chelsea was one of the latest Senior sessions that I have done and it was already starting to get cold so we stayed in the studio.  We still had a lot of fun and Chelsea was great to work with.  I hope I get to photograph her Senior and Junior friends.

Carla Senior Session

I photographed Carla’s Quince photos a few years ago and have done a lot of their family photos over the years so it was great to be able to photograph Carla’s Senior photos.  We had a lot of fun and I got to “play” a lot in the camera room.  Carla was very patient and a great sport.  I think we got some incredible images, so much so that I entered one in the Regional Print competition and won an award with it.  Thank you Carla for working with me and having fun.

My favorite and the one that won an award at the Mountain States Regional Print Competition.

Nate Senior Session

 The last two months have been so busy that I guess I haven’t had a chance to get the blog updated so this week I will be posting a bunch of jobs that were shot in the past two months starting with Nate’s Senior Session.  I’ve been having a lot of fun shooting Seniors lately and I hope to do a lot more in the coming year.  Wow, can you believe that 2009 is almost over already.  It’s been a great year for Don Polo Photography, even with the economy the way it is I think people are refocusing on things that are important and families and portraits I think are part of that.  My sales are up about 20 percent over last year so I say thank you to all of you for making it such a great year.  I promise I will try to get the blog caught up so if you are waiting for your event to hit the blog please be patient with me and check back soon.

Telford Family

I’ve known Amber and her family for I don’t even want to admit how many years and I met Paul when I photographed their wedding.  I started photographing Amber as part of Colette’s Dancing School which her Mom owned at the time and we have been friends ever since.  It is sooo cool to be able to photograph Amber’s family now and watch her kids grow.  It’s an even bigger bonus when her kids run up and give me a hug at church.  We had a lot of fun in the session and as you can see took tons of photos of the kids.  If you’re an employee of Colettes or the family of a Colette’s Dancer ask me about the CDS discount on all portrait sessions.  If you want autumn colors though you have to hurry and schedule your sessions now.  Call 801-967-9106 for an appointment.

Nielsen Family

We are so lucky here in Utah to have all four seasons to photograph in.  I think Autumn is my favorite though, especially when you have a day like this one.  The leaves are really starting to change and you can feel that winter is on the way but there’s still something magical about the fall leaves and family portraits.  In addition to the traditional family portraits here we tried to have fun and take photos of the family just being themselves.  There’s still time if you haven’t made an appointment yet to get your family portraits taken in the fall leaves.  Don’t miss out great opportunities like this one.

Kortney Senior Session

 I’ve known Kortney for several years now but I had no idea she was so beautiful until I got to take her senior photos.  Kortney is such a great athlete and just all around great person and I’m so happy that she made homecoming queen.  I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun as I did working with Kortney.  Mention that you are a friend of Kortney and get your session at half price.

Bella

 This little girl really lives up to her name.  Bella in spanish means beautiful and she knows it.  She was great in front of the camera and I think we both had a lot of fun.  Even her proud papa got in on a few.  I love to photograph outdoors but as the weather gets colder it is great to have a large studio to work in especially for the little ones.  They just don’t understand why they are freezing and somebody wants them to smile.  I’ve had famlies as large as 40 people before with room to spare.  The other advantage to a studio is you can photograph all day long and get perfect light all the time.

Chester Family

I thought I was taking summer family photos in August but it turned out that fall colors are a little early this year and we got a little bit of fall color already.  In the past month the some areas have really changed a lot and others it’s still greeen.  The best fall color though I think will be gone if a few more weeks so if you want autumn color family portraits you need to get those booked now.  I did their wedding a few years ago so I was really excited when they called for family portraits.  Their baby was sooo cute, laughing out loud a lot of the time.  I would love to get her in the studio or out in the garden and just spend an hour or two photographing her laugh.  This is another session that you couldn’t just get one.  I would need a whole gallery of images to really do this justice.  I hope they have a lot of walls.

Dunn Baby

He is soooo cute.  But then I wouldn’t have expected anything less with the two gorgeous sisters that he has that are some of my favorite photos on my website.  Daisies are gone but I am still shooting in my garden.  I’ve got 4 or 5 areas now that have grown in enough to make great backgrounds.   I can’t wait to photograph the whole family again.  Maybe in the fall colors or a winter background.

Youlton Family

This was so much fun.  I get to play with these tiny babies and I don’t even have to clean up after them.  I really love it when I get Mom and Dad with the baby.  It’s such a special time for everybody.  It’s hard in the sales room though because I know if it were me I would want everything huge all over my house.  It’s so hard to decide on favorites, even for the blog I have a hard time choosing just a few.  If you have or are expecting babies please call me.  You can never go back to these moments and once they are gone, they are gone forever.  I would give anything to have photos of us with our kids like this.
